Animelo Weekend
A short haiku to start this post:
…my heart is crying
to see all mybeloved
alas, not to be…
Okay, a wee bit dramatic, but the agony is real. What am I talking about? Well, this weekend it’s the Animelo Summer Live 2009 show in Tokyo. A few of my friends are departing to Tokyo this morning, and I’m stucked here
For those not in the know, Animelo Summer Live, the biggest annual anime songs concert in Japan, held annually every summer since 2005, will be held on August 22 and 23 at the Saitama Super Arena, Japan.
Looking at the line-up of performers, the organiser’s claim to be the biggest anisongs concert is aptly justified. I mean, the line-up is very impressive, featuring the A-lists and who’s who of the anime industry.
The line-up:

Hocchan.. my future waifu (if she only knew I existed *sigh*)
Saturday, August 22
Ayane, ALI PROJECT, Angela, Chiaki Ishikawa, Kanako Itō, ELISA, Minami Kuribayashi, GRANRODEO, Asami Shimoda, JAM Project, Minori Chihara, Shoko Nakagawa (Special Appearance), Miku Hatsune, Beat Mario, Yui Horie, Manzo, Mamoru Miyano, May’n, Haruko Momoi
Sunday, August 23
Tomoe Ohmi, Kenji Ohtsuki and the Zetsubou Shōjo Tachi (Ai Nonaka, Ryōko Shintani, Yū Kobayashi, Miyuki Sawashiro), Masami Okui, GACKT,Hironobu Kageyama, Psychic Lover, Yui Sakakibara, Savage Genius, Suara, Yukari Tamura, The Idolmaster (Eriko Nakamura, Asami Imai, Mayako Nigo), Aya Hirano, Fiction Junction, Faylan, Nana Mizuki, M.O.V.E, Yosei Teikoku, Chihiro Yonekura
Yeap, a very impressive list. Seeing my beloved Hocchan and Minorin up there , and knowing that I’ll be missing this… well, my heart is breaking to gazilion pieces, and it will never be whole again huhuhu… (okay, way over dramatic now!!!
)
Hopefully I can leech off a few pics from my friends next week. Till then, on the right is a pic of Yui Horie for you to ogle at

would you happen to know how someone living in the states can buy a ticket to the event for future reference?

@Kenny,
Well, most tickets are sold via electronic vending machines you can access at various keypoints, especially the ubiquitous konbini (convenience store).
Just get somebody to buy it for you. If you don’t have friends over in Japan, I suggest you find a good travel agents that have contacts there, and they’ll definitely be able to get these tickets for you. Just for reference, tickets for Animelo 2009 are priced at JPY8500 (about USD85 each)
Plus, you can also buy the tickets online here: http://eplus.jp/sys/main.jsp, tho it’s really a hassle, and I’m not sure whether they’ll post it over to folks outside of Japan.

Ah, I was there, it was a lot of fun. Got over a thousand photos but need to have the organizers to approve of them before publishing.
