Introducing Bakuman (Recovered)
So here we go, my first proper blog for Otaku Complex.
Now I thought “what should I do?? I could do all those normal ones like update and chat about weekly chapters but oh my oh my I want something more interesting to write about. So how about I introduce one to you which maybe some of you have heard of and maybe some of you haven’t. Either way it is definitely a manga to read.
So you have all heard of Death Note? (If you haven’t add it to the list of to reads) Well did you know that the artist and author started another series together a year or so ago? Well here we have it, the introduction of Bakuman.

A good starting point of this manga would be that it is completely different to Death Note, but don’t let that put you off. Bakuman still contains the ‘on the edge of your seat wanting more’ feel which Death Note possessed. The story how ever is completely different.
The story starts focusing on Mashiro who is just your average 14 year old, not aiming to go anywhere, just moving along with the flow of life. Until one day Takagi sees his drawings in his math note book and asks Mashiro to become a Mangaka (A manga artist) with him. At first Mashiro is unwilling but with in the first chapter you see how Takagi manages to change Mashiro’s answer and how the two set off together working on how to become popular Mangakas and about the challenges they face.
The story keeps a good depth with strong characters, interesting plot twists, and show clearly how they grow as they try harder and harder. The story is more light hearted than Death Note and contains moments that you can’t help but to laugh at. A brilliant mix between Comedy, Slice of Life, Romance and Drama, always keeping the reader wanting more.
The series is released weekly in Jump and you can read it both on Manga Fox and One Manga, which ever one you prefer. It is currently on 60 chapters but is definitely one to pick up and take a look at.
Hope my recommendation was good and that you enjoy the manga if you decide to read it.
