Otaku Complex! continues to develop both behind and infront of the scenes, I’m finding it increasingly difficult to devote enough time to the tasks that are necessary for keeping this piece functioning like it should. While darkdragon does help me with many of the time-devouring magazine and site designs there are even more things that need to be taken care of. With all my plans and all.

Stick around till the end you may see something that catches your eye.

As such, I’ve decided to open positions for the following:
Administrative Assistant (AA), Post Writer (PW), Magazine Writer (MW). The basic functions of these positions involve the handling of a variety of tasks on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis.

If interested in any of the positions, please carefully read the following.

You must have or be able to do the following with little to no instruction:
(by little to no instruction, I mean that you should already know how to do the following, I will obviously explain the OC! related details of each task)

Utilize photo editing software (ie: Photoshop or GIMP) to crop pictures and insert text. Cropping does involve specific sizes, and you must be able to crop while keeping appropriate subject focus. (AA,PW)

Work your way around an FTP program (ie: Filezilla), mainly to upload pictures.(AA,PW,MW)

Have a firm grasp of HTML and a basic understanding of CSS.(AA)

Be familiar with Wordpress, especially the organization of tags and categories, as well as the utilization of the HTML editor. (This can be explained)(AA,PW)

Have a solid understanding of Wordpress custom fields. (Can be explained) (AA,PW)

Other requirements:

You will have to have AIM, and be available on a fairly frequent basis. Please note that our admins live in central/eastern US.

There will be deadlines for your tasks that you have to meet. Have to.

Suggested Extras:

A microphone and a Skype account are not required, but would be beneficial for delegating tasks, discussing site planning and explaining duties.

As an AA, you are not required to write anything at Otaku Complex!. You are, however, more than welcome to contribute posts (pending approval) as you wish. You are also welcome to contribute in our team posts and other full-site related activities which will soon be added and revelaed.

NEW YEAR PLANS

Right, I have big big plans, what could these plans be? I hear you thinking, well I shall tell you. In a short (hopefully) list.

1. New Theme – I realise I have messed around with this quite a bit – however the current theme just won’t support all the big plans so I am working on finding and modifying a theme that will.

2. Magazine – The next issue is in January – Darkdragon and I are currently writing articles for it, look forward to it.

3. Team Posts – This goes in turn with the new staff positions – for a reference to these look at OI Hayaku – ours won’t be the same but the essence is similar.

4. Podcast – Yes you did read that correctly a Podcast – I have been doing these for a few months for a friends blog and quite like the idea of voicing complex opinions – it’s less text to read aswell – I will do this myself but it’s always better with collaborators.
